# A Prayer for London
Blogging @ 07 July 2005
My heart goes out to the city that I love so much. This is such a terrible thing to have happened. God be with those who need comfort and healing.

Did you hear about the businesses in the west end being taken over for “fair market value” by the government to make way for the olympic village?

Okay…I got in my car after my first comment, and realized what you were talking about when I flipped on the radio. (You weren’t speaking about the olympics). My heart just breaks for them.

May God have mercy on the men who did this. I pray that Jesus, in His soverign power, will use this time to turn hearts towards Him. Something about terrorism and London makes me think back to the stirring rendition of Peace on Earth/Walk On that U2, Natalie Imbruglia and Dave from the Eurithmics did for the 9/11 show- from London. “Heaven on Earth, we need it now, sick of all of this, hanging around. Sick of the sorrow, sick of the pain, sick of hearing, again and again- that there’s gonna be, peace on earth…” Prayers toward Londontown!

hey guys, i’m in london at the moment staying with my family. things are kinda okay i think. 90% of the transport system is back to normal and most people are just getting on with things. the news says the city centre is quieter though.
its really sad that this had to happen, but on a positive note, not too many people have died (about 50) compared to new york/madrid/d.c. and the emergency services seem to have done an amazing job. everything seemed so organised and co-ordinated on the news and large percentages of the overground trains and buses were running by 4pm yesteday. i caught a train that was heading towards central london at 6pm thursday and it was only delayed by 10 mins.
so things seem okay, just very weird and strange. that’s my reaction to the events, i don’t really know what you can really say or do other than just get on as normal. :).

[...] It took me awhile to fall back to sleep. I couldn’t get the feeling or the urgency of the moment out of my head. I said a small prayer, thinking that something might be happening somewhere. Several hours later I awoke again, the morning light casting a warm glow in the room. I made my way to Mike’s computer and read this entry on Zach Lind’s blog. [...]
